For two consecutive years, I volunteered to serve as a panelist and facilitator at prefectural orientation for new incoming JETs, helping answer their questions and encouraging them as they began their lives in Tokyo. Each year I spoke with several sessions of orientation, reaching an estimated total of 250 new JET ALTs during the onboarding process.
