Successfully completed the rigorous 10-Month Program in Japanese language, politics, and anthropology. Graduation research was awarded the American Folklore Society's Saboohi I. Khan Award for Student Research in Asian & Asian American Folklore (2021).
Co-planned and co-taught 12-18 classes per week to 12-40 high school students, on topics ranging from MEXT English education, history, cultural competency, and anthropology. Founded English circle and immersive English camp activities for students at underserved public schools. Served as panelist and facilitator at 2 annual incoming JET prefectural orientations (2018, 2019).
I planned, founded, and managed an all-day immersive English summer-camp-style activity for Tokyo high school students across a broad spectrum of English abilities and experience levels. I coordinated with seven other Tokyo JET ALTs from several different countries to make sure that students received top-quality English education that speaks to the breadth and depth of the English-speaking world. During both years of this project (2019 and 2020), this camp received the support (後援) of the US Embassy in Tokyo, and in our second year, we were selected as one of the funded projects in the US JET Alumni Association's Microgrant Initiative.

I was granted the Khan Award for "Viral Monsters for a Viral Era: Japan's folkloric response to the COVID-19 pandemic." This piece was based on research I conducted for my 10-Month Program graduation happyōkai and was supported by tutorials during the Summer P-Course.
