細胞間を結び付けている結合組織を構成する重要成分の一つ「ヒアルロン酸」を分解する酵素のお話です。この分解は材料をリサイクルするために行われますが、がんの転移や細菌の感染、精子細胞と卵子の受精などその他さまざまな場面でも見られます。また蜂毒などにもこの種の分解酵素が含まれています。
