Libon is a mobile communication application, which allows its users to make VoIP and VoIP Out calls to more than one hundred countries, and at very competitive rates. It was the first application in its category on the App Stores in many countries such as: France, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka or Poland. Libon was the first application to offer innovative features such as: Open Chat, a technology which allows the application user to communicate with all his contacts for free, even with those who have not installed the application on their mobile. Or Reach Me, wich allows Libon users to receive all their calls even when they do not have a GSM network, thanks to a simple wireless connection. With that project, I had the chance to see: • How an innovative project evolves in time, and how a user base grows from few users in some countries to millions of monthly active users all around the world. • The monetization of an app, with a freemium model.
