This is the third article of "How about joining us, Satoyama Energy?" This time, we'd like to introduce our engineer, Mr.Izawa, to you. You can find that we are a growing global culture.
ーWhich part do you engage in Satoyama Energy? I’m currently involved in the design and permitting for the projects. Most of my days I do calculations and create/update drawings. I’m also involved with the interactions with involved parties such as the Turbine & Generator vendors in Brazil or Gate vendors that is locally available.
The cap-waring man is Mr.Izawa at the 1st World Community Power Conference in Fukushima.
ーHave you planned to work for renewable energy in your carrer? To be honest, working on renewable energy is included in my list of opportunities I should take to able to realize my end-game goal which is to be able to help everyone in the world.
ーWhich point made your mind to join our company? By joining this company, I saw that my chance to be an engineer here in Japan would be realized. And the fact that I would be a part of this world-changing industry is really exciting.
ーHow is working for Satoyama Energy? Which point appeal to you? One that I think is Satoyama Energy’s charm would be that its closeness to nature. Being able to see this beautiful scenery and the thought of being able to bring people closer to this beauty is quite exciting.
ーYou moved to Nagano to start working in our company. How is Nagano prefecture? I never lived in Nagano before. It is a beautiful place, though I must say it is a bit difficult if you do not have your own car or a driver’s license.
ーWhat kind of dream do you have in your job? I am looking forward to the day we build our first Micro Hydro Power Station. So that when my take my future family to see it I’d be able to say“Hey, do you see that power station? Many people are saved because of that, and you know what? I’m one of the engineer who helped make it into reality.”
ーWhat do you expect in the future while working in the company? To be able to leave a mark all over Japan whilst helping a lot of people along the way.
―Please tell me about your important things without job, or your hobby, and so on. Well, I grew up in the Philippines so family and friends is really important. As for my hobbies, I quite enjoy playing games (any type of game). Particularly, I am interested in Board Gaming and Computer Gaming. At time I also like to play physical games like Basketball or Badminton, or perhaps Bowling.
ーPlease introduce other members in Satoyama Energy to reading this article. At first, Mr.Maeda, who is a CEO in our company. I really look up to him and a great mentor. Not just because he’s our boss but because he is great engineer. He may be strict most of the time but those are learning opportunities to be able to be at least one step closer to becoming a great engineer yourself.
A red-cap man is Mr.Tanaka, and to his right side is Mr.Maeda.
Second is Mr.Tanaka; an all-around type of guy. Outstanding to work with in my opinion even though I think at times I ask him too much questions. Even with my low level Japanese, he’s able to understand what I am trying to say and I think that is one of the best traits out there; a great sense of communication.
