ダックビルが属するグループ企業「建装工業」は建設業のRビジネスである。（リユース＝修繕し繰り返し使用すること、リデュース＝製品寿命延長の取り組み）その業務範囲は幅広く、マンションの大規模修繕工事やプラントの塗装、橋梁や道路の修繕工事にまで及びます。

ダックビルは建装工業のグループ企業として建装工業がデジタルで困っていることであればなんでも解決しないといけない。ドア制御や監視装置などのIoTシステムから業務支援アプリ、通信回線の調達までこれまた業務範囲は幅広い。ニーズが多岐に渡るからずっと好奇心がくすぐられる。建設テックはマジで楽しい♪

建装工業の現場では、さまざまなデジタル技術が活用されている。ところが、である。山奥の現場や高層マンションの屋外作業など、通信回線が届かない場所が結構ある。インターネットどころか電話もSMSも届かない。なんか昭和に戻った感じで、現場にいるとドキドキしてちょっと楽しい。

そんな場所ではスターリンクが最も手堅い解決策になる。スターリンク社はあのイーロンマスクが経営している米国衛星通信企業だ。2024年時点で約6000機の通信衛星が高度550km、世界中の宙に網羅されていて世界中で通信信号を受け取ることが可能です。（利用周波数帯域10.7GHz〜14.5GHz）

ダックビルもスターリンクを持っていて困っている現場に貸出している。いろんな現場で通信速度を見ているがだいたい上りで200Mbps、下りで20Mbpsぐらいは出る。風雨対策で設置に工夫は必要だが、実際に現場で使っていて困ることはない。

1990年ごろまで通信といえば電話回線が当たり前でした。30年経ったいまは光回線が主流。電話やCATVなどの銅線回線を利用したものだと速度や品質が安定しなくて嫌がる人が多い。でもはたして20年後にマンションや工事現場で光回線が使われているんだろうか。技術というのは常に先端を学んでいかないとダメなんだと思う。お客さまに損させちゃうことになるから。

On-site at Kensou Kogyo, various digital technologies are utilized. However, in remote areas or high-rise buildings, communication lines are often inaccessible. In such places, Starlink is the most reliable solution. Starlink, run by Elon Musk, operates about 6,000 communication satellites at an altitude of 550 km, covering the globe and providing signals worldwide (frequency range 10.7GHz–14.5GHz).

DuckBuild lends Starlink to sites in need, consistently achieving upload speeds of around 200Mbps and download speeds of 20Mbps, sufficient for on-site needs.

In the 1990s, phone lines were standard for communication. Now, 30 years later, fiber optics are mainstream. However, copper lines used in telephone and CATV systems are often disliked due to unstable speeds and quality. In 20 years, will fiber optics still be used in construction sites and condominiums? Technology constantly evolves, and staying updated is crucial to avoid disadvantaging customers.
